The best thing working online gave me wasn't money.
Of course money matters. Bills have to be paid. But looking back over the last 25 years, the thing I value most is something else.
For me, it was freedom and flexibility.
I became self-employed in 2001, just as our eldest daughter was born. Since then I've had the privilege of being around for the ordinary moments as well as the big ones — first steps, school days, university and everything in between.
There were ups and downs, and working for yourself doesn't magically remove financial pressure. But having greater control over where and when I worked changed our family life.
That's why I don't think the question is simply, “How much money can this make?”
A better question can be: what would having more choice allow me to do with my life?
More money is useful. More choices are the point.
That's the thinking behind Paul70 — exploring practical ways to create a little more financial breathing room and, potentially, more control over your time.
